Join us to explore the sweeter side of winter with sweet maple days! We'll have guided hikes, tours of our maple sugaring house, and more!

Maple Tree Tapping Days 

Saturday, January 8, 1:30-3:30 pm

Sunday, January 9, 1:30-3:30 pm

Help us tap the trees as we start the sugaring season. Head out into the sugarbush with a maple guide to learn the ins and outs of tree identification and tapping, all while drilling holes, setting taps, and hanging sap buckets. Members $6; nonmembers $12 (includes daily admission).  

Homeschool Maple Tree Tapping  

Experience the process of producing liquid gold from maple sap from the very beginning! Tap trees with us and learn how we’re measuring the health of our maples with community science. Members $7; nonmembers $13 (includes daily admission). 

Maple Syrup Making and Guided Sap Collecting Hikes in the Sugarbush 

Hit the trail for a guided interactive maple hike. Collect sap in the sugarbush and see the steaming evaporator as we boil down to “liquid gold” maple syrup. Members free; nonmember adults $10, nonmember children $6 (includes daily admission).

Get a behind-the-scenes look at the maple syrup evaporator and sugaring tools like skimmers, filters, and thermometers. You will be able to look inside the sap storage tanks, help set up for the day’s programs, and help prepare the materials to fire up the evaporator. Members $5; nonmembers $11 (includes daily admission). 

Maple Sugaring Basics (Online) 

Ever wonder how maple syrup is produced, or want to try doing it yourself? From taps to evaporators, this online class will give you a basic overview of the maple sugaring process and what you’ll need to get started. Member adults $10; nonmember adults $15. 

Homeschool Maple Sugaring                      

Join a naturalist for a hike into the sugarbush with your family to collect “liquid sunshine” and see how it’s turned into sweet maple syrup. Look at how sugaring has changed throughout history and visit the Sugar House. Help with sugaring work and sample warm maple syrup right off the evaporator. Members $7; nonmembers $13 (includes daily admission). 

Revel in the magic of maple season! Sample maple beer and edible delights, and join in games, crafts, and stories that are sure to be fun for all ages. Member adults $12, member children $5; nonmember adults $18, nonmember children $11 (includes daily admission).
