Green Sprouts (Ages 3-5 years) - SOLD OUT

Saturday Nature Squad - (Ages 5-13 years)

Join our crew and be immersed in hands-on experiences in an idyllic outdoor setting. We’ll explore the seasonal changes during this monthly adventure by strolling through the forest, hunting for critters in the pond, collecting fall seeds, and preparing for winter. Designed for ages 3-13, these programs inspire children to learn about nature while encouraging curiosity, exploration, and wonderment. With Family Membership $100; without Family Membership $120 (includes daily admission).

Wild With My Child: Spooky Nature at Long Branch Farm & Trails 

During this self-paced discovery program, young children and their caregivers will explore nature together through multiple senses and outdoor exploration. Meander the trail and visit naturalists at not-so-spooky Halloween-themed stations. Preregistration required. Members $5; nonmember adult $11 and nonmember child $7 (includes daily admission).

Leaf Printing in the Nature PlayScape  

Saturday, October 14, 2-3 pm 

Capture fall colors by printing with leaves gathered from the Nature PlayScape. This is a fun art project for children of all ages that includes pounding with mallets and stamping with paint! No registration necessary for this drop-in program. Members free; nonmembers pay daily admission at the gate.

Nature’s Candyland Adventure

Bring your flashlights and go on a fall escapade through nature’s candyland trail, complete with treats, tricks, and surprises! Follow the map to play games, make crafts, and discover nocturnal animals. The truly adventurous (in spirit and heart) will win a prize for completing the trail. Costumes are encouraged! Perfect for ages 5 and up with a caregiver. Preregistration required. Members: $5; nonmembers $11 (includes daily admission).

Beginner Birding for Families 

We’re going birding and the whole family is invited! From binocular use to identification tips and tricks, we’ll learn the basics of backyard birding in this kid-friendly hike! Each ticket includes an Ohio Department of Natural Resources field guide to common birds in the area. This class is perfect for ages 7 and up with an adult. Preregistration required. Members $7; nonmembers $13 (includes daily admission).

Nocturnal Storytime 

Owls, raccoons, and bats—oh my! Join us for a special evening storytime at Rowe Woods. We’ll enjoy fireside storytelling about nocturnal animals in Rowe Visitor Center’s library. We’ll also take a short nighttime stroll to try to hear nighttime visitors. This program is perfect for ages 3 and up with an adult. Preregistration required. Members $5; nonmembers $11 (includes daily admission).
