Beginner Birding for Families  

We’re going birding and the whole family is invited! From binocular use to identification tips and tricks, we’ll learn the basics of backyard birding in this kid-friendly hike! Each ticket includes an Ohio Department of Natural Resources field guide to common birds in the area. This program is perfect for age 7 and up with an accompanying adult. Preregistration required. Members $7; nonmembers $13 (includes daily admission).

Earth Painting in the Nature PlayScape 

Sunday, April 21, 11 am12:30 pm 

Join us for an Earth Day celebration in the Nature PlayScape! We’ll make our own “paint” with mud and create one-of-a-kind natural paintings. Perfect for ages 5 and up with an adult caregiver. No registration necessary for this drop-in program. Free admission for all for Earth Day Weekend.

Wild with My Child: Colorful Potions 

During this self-paced discovery program, young children and their caregivers will explore nature together through multiple senses and outdoor exploration. Meander the trail and create colorful potions to discover the many colors of nature during play experiences. Children need to attend with an adult caregiver. Activities are best suited for children ages 1–3 years. Our walk includes mild hills and gravel trails. Preregistration required. Member adult $5 and member child $5; nonmember adult $11 and nonmember child $11 (includes daily admission).

Wonders of Wind in the Nature PlayScape 

Saturday, May 18, 10–11 am 

How do you see the wind? During this playful program, we’ll learn about this seemingly invisible natural phenomenon and how it affects our day-to-day life. We’ll use our senses to tell which way the wind is blowing and create a fun craft to help us “see” the wind. No registration necessary for this drop-in program. Members free; nonmembers pay daily admission at the gate.
