Trail and Garden Benches – Terms between Cincinnati Nature Center and donor(s):

  • There is a required memorandum of understanding to sign between Cincinnati Nature Center and the donor.
  • Donations secure a physical bench and an area for placing the bench for 10 years. However, payments do not convey control, reservation, or ownership of the benches nor of the areas reserved for their placement.
  • Once the donation has been received, if benches are in stock, the bench will be placed within 15 business days. If the bench needs to be ordered, it may take up to six weeks for placement. Once the bench is in place and the engraved metal plaque has been attached, donors will be informed.
  • Benches will be maintained for 10 years, after which the donor will be given the option to renew their financial commitment for another 10 years. If the donors do not wish to commit to another 10-year placement, the bench will be made available to other donors.
  • There exists a risk factor to a four-season outdoor tribute. Within the 10-year commitment, Cincinnati Nature Center will be responsible for replacing benches that are damaged or destroyed due to acts of nature.
  • In a constantly changing outdoor habitat, many things can change. Cincinnati Nature Center will continuously review tribute opportunities and determinations can be made at any time to discontinue this offering.
