Rules for Visiting Rowe Woods

Spending time in nature is so beneficial to the mental, physical, and emotional health of all people. Beginning June 1, Cincinnati Nature Center will welcome everyone to our Rowe Woods site, including members and nonmembers. The Rowe Visitor Center, the Nature Shop, and all trails & boardwalks also are opening on June 1.

To optimize your experience and safety, all visitors to Rowe Woods must register online for a specific timed ticket before coming. Links to the registration pages are at the bottom of this page. Please note that Long Branch Farm & Trails remains open to members only. Visits to Long Branch no longer require registration.

Registration will open three days in advance with a new day opening every day at 9:00 am.

  • Please register the total number of people planning to visit. All children and adults of any age must be registered.
  • You are registering for a “timed ticket” and your visit needs to occur within this time frame. We ask that you leave the Nature Center when your time is up.
We have new protocols in place to ensure the health and safety of our guests and staff, based on the current guidelines from Governor DeWine and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
While at the Nature Center, we ask that you adhere to all social distancing rules, including:
  • Step Aside: When encountering others on the trail, please respect one another by stepping aside. You can do this on most trails easily while still staying on the trails. If you must go off trails, be careful of the wildlife and plants – especially the three-leaves of poison ivy!
  • Wear a Mask: For the safety of others, please wear a mask or face covering. Masks are required while you’re inside all facilities, including the Rowe Visitor Center. We realize this is difficult while on the trails, and it is not mandated outside, but when passing others, please pull your mask up.
  • Avoid Group Gatherings: Please walk in groups of 10 or fewer and distance your group 6 feet from others at pavilions, picnic areas, and all other spaces.

Restrictions Still in Place

  • At Rowe Woods, restrooms are available at the Nature PlayScape  and at our Rowe Visitor Center. All other restrooms on that property remain closed.
  • All water fountains remain turned off.
  • Benches and picnic tables are available with social distancing measures in place. Please allow for at least six feet of space between you and others. Only groups under 10 at the Nature Center together may sit in close proximity.
  • Please pack-in/pack-out.

For the safety and courtesy of all visitors and staff

  • If you are sick, stay home.
  • Practice social distancing. Leave six feet of space between you and others. If you wish to pass another person on the trail, please announce yourself and your intentions so that other person may move out of your way.
  • Wash hands or use hand sanitizer before and after your visit.
  • Only walk or hike in groups of 10 or fewer.
  • Dogs are allowed, but you must abide by all current pet rules.
  • Please do not register to visit every day to allow time for others to visit.
  • Grounds may close if unsafe weather conditions arise.
  • Gate opens at 8 am and is locked at 9:00 pm at the exit for security.

The health and safety of our members, volunteers, and staff is our first priority. Mandates and recommendations from government officials and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention may change our ability to follow this new limited opening plan. If we find that guests are not following appropriate social distancing or other guidelines, we may be forced to completely close again. Please check our website and social media sites for any changes or updates.

Registration closes one hour before the time slot begins or when no more openings for reservations are available. "Sold out" will appear in the upper left corner of the page when no more reservations are available.
