Long Branch Farm & Trails is located in Goshen, Ohio, just nine miles northeast of Milford. It is accessible to Cincinnati Nature Center members only.

Spanning 767 acres if forest and farmland, Long Branch Farm & Trails has five miles of hiking trails, winding through Eastern deciduous forest, fields, streams, and ponds.

Hike for Your Health

Pick up a Hike for Your Health passport at the Rowe Visitor Center. After completing each trail, stop by the Front Desk to get a stamp. After hiking all 15 trails at Rowe Woods and Long Branch Farm & Trails, bring your completed passport back to receive a special prize.

Trail Rules & Conservation Ethics

Our Trail Rules adhere to and promote healthy conservation ethics. They are based on a respect for nature and other visitors, and are supported by scientific research. Our efforts to preserve the ecology of this unique place are for you and for the next generation. Enjoy your time outdoors responsibly and with minimum impact.

To protect our land
1. Remain on designated trails to protect woodland habitat and prevent erosion to vulnerable hillsides. Off-trail activity is prohibited.
2. Trails are reserved for foot traffic only.
3. Walk in groups of 12 or fewer. Run in groups of 6 or fewer.
4. Do not litter. Pack it in, pack it out.
5. Tree-climbing is not allowed. Trees are habitat for mammals, insects and birds.
6. Flower-picking is not allowed. Flowers should remain for everyone’s enjoyment!
7. Specimen, rock or fossil collecting is not allowed. Observe the treasures around you.
8. Hunting is not allowed.

To protect our water
9. Remain on stepping stones to protect aquatic habitat and prevent erosion to pond edges and stream banks.
10. Wading and fishing are not allowed.
11. Stream exploration on trail path only.
12. Feeding waterfowl and other wildlife is prohibited. To protect your experience
13. Children 14 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
14. Weapons, including concealed firearms, are prohibited on our premises.
15. Smoking, including e-cigarettes and all other smoking devices, is prohibited. Welcome to a smoke-free environment!

Dog Rules
While many nature centers do not allow dogs, we welcome them. We hope that our members help protect that privilege by following our Dog Rules. These rules are in place to keep our members, wildlife and pets safe.

1. Register your dog by calling Rowe Woods Gatehouse at (513) 965-4245.
2. Dogs must be leashed and under control at all times. Six-foot leash rules apply to the entire property at all times.
3. Keep your dog on the path provided. Dogs are prohibited from wading or swimming in water.
4. Prevent contact between your dog and other guests.
5. Clean up after your dog AND carry the bag to the nearest garbage can.
6. Dogs are not permitted inside Nature Center buildings.

Cincinnati Nature Center reserves the right to apply penalties or revoke a membership if a person does not follow the Rules we have put in place. In such case, no refund will be issued.

How We Rate Our Trails

An easy trail:

  • Is comparatively flat
  • Is < 1.25 miles in length
  • Is at least 3 feet in width
  • Has stream crossings with bridges

A moderate trail:

  • Contains greater elevation changes
  • Is ˃ 1.5 miles in length
  • Varies in width
  • Presents a stream crossing with abundant stepping stones
  • Has a natural surface and could be muddy or slippery when wet

A difficult trail has at least one of the following characteristics:

  • Has significant elevation change
  • Is > 2.5 miles in length
  • Presents a stream crossing with fewer stepping stones
  • Is comparatively remote to other trails
