The Wild East: Seeking Adventure and Preserving the Land

Sunday, June 7, 2-4 pm

Jennifer Pharr Davis is a lover of long trails and good stories. And she has made a name for herself both as a record setting hiker and National Geographic Adventurer, and as a writer who has penned numerous books and articles for the New York Times, Outside, and Backpacker. Pharr Davis has inspired women and men across the country with her message that "the trail is there for everyone at every phase of life." She will visit to share stories, slides, and lessons from her many trail adventures, including excerpts from her popular Appalachian Trail memoir Becoming Odyssa, recently re-released in a 10th anniversary edition. Pharr Davis will also discuss the importance of wild places—not just "out west," but right here in our own backyard. A book signing will follow the program.
