NatureVersity: Nature Mentoring

If you want to share your passion for nature with others, especially with children, these programs will teach you how. Nature is critical for healthy children - help the children in your life to experience nature more fully.

Grownups in Nature                     

Parents, grandparents, and other adults are invited to join a Play Facilitator inside the Nature Playscape for a one-hour intensive class on how to best utilize the Playscape and elements. Participants will learn why children need to play in nature for healthy development and what they can do to encourage their own children to get outdoors and explore. Members free; Nonmembers pay daily admission.

Sharing Nature With Others

Available by request. This course provides techniques for staff/volunteers of youth-based organizations to use nature to inspire and enrich children’s lives.  Call to arrange your customized program. 

$75 per person (prices may vary for longer training sessions). 9 am–5 pm.

NAI Interpretive Guide Training

This course provides training in how to plan cohesive, engaging interpretive programs. See CNC website for requirements and details.  Upon completion, each participant’s materials will be submitted to the National Association for Interpretation and those which are approved by NAI will receive certification.  Bring a brown bag lunch each day.

$320 NAI members (includes instructor fee, certification fee, materials); $370 non-NAI members (also includes 1-year NAI membership). Instructor: Jason Neumann.
