NATURE MENTORS LEVEL I 9/25/10 & 10/2/10
This 12-hour introduction to nature mentoring is perfect for parents, grandparents, teachers, nannies and anyone else who works with children.
You will learn techniques for mentoring children outdoors, including how to ask intriguing questions that guide a child's natural curiosity and confidence, how to deepen a child's observation skills and how to encourage creative play. You will also learn basic natural history information, including how to use resources to find answers and how to avoid hazards. Finally, you will learn group management skills that naturalists use to focus multiple children's attention and involve all participants in an outdoor experience.
