Children ages 7-9 will explore the forest, ponds, and fields of Rowe Woods. Introduction to topic and moderate hike provided . 4-session series $36 members, $56 nonmembers. Space is limited. Please preregister. Saturdays, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
September 12 Stuck to the Bottom of a Rock Trek to the stream to search under rocks for creatures like water pennies, salamanders and mayfly nymphs. Listen intently and you'll hear the tales they tell.
October 10 Fabulous Fungi and Marvelous Mushrooms Mushrooms are the keys to the forest. Our search for fungal wonders will allow us to "see" the underground parts of a mushroom and reveal how animals use mushrooms as food.
November 14 Ah, nuts! There's Seeds Stuck to my Socks. Explore why birds, mammals and insects eat seeds and how seeds find legs and wings.We'll end with you eating like a squirrel.
