AWARENESS FALL 2010
Children ages 5-6 will look will explore the forest, ponds, and fields of Rowe Woods. A short story, craft and snack will also be provided.
September 18 - Awareness of Life in the Pond Many animals make their home in the water. We will look for fish, frogs, turtles, caddisfly, whirligig beetles, and other insects that make their homes around the pond.
October 9 - Awareness of Leaves Hike into the forest to find trees with leaves of different colors. We will search high in the trees and low to the ground to find a special leaf use for a leaf rubbing back in the classroom.
November 13 - Awareness of Trees Hike into the forest to discover a tree's life. Find out what tree rings tell us about the life of a tree and what happens to the roots as the temperature turns cold.
December 11 - Awareness of Seeds Hike into the field and forest to find seeds. We will discover how wind, water and animals move seeds around.
